Specifying which colors to create separations for
In the Separation Setup dialog box, each separation is labeled with the color name that Illustrator assigned it. If an icon of a printer 
appears next to the color name, Illustrator creates a separation for the color.
To specify whether to create a separation for a color:
- Do one of the following:
- By default, Illustrator creates a separation for each CMYK color in the art. To create a separation, make sure the printer icon is displayed next to the color name in the Separation Setup dialog box.
- To choose not to create a separation, click the printer icon next to the color's name. The printer icon disappears, and no separation is created.
